The ongoing violence in Syria has caused the largest displacement crisis of our time. While some have argued that the Syrian conflict is moving into a final stage, and discussions around reconstruction have started, conditions in Syria are still not conducive for repatriation in safety and dignity. With almost half of the Syrian population still displaced both in and outside Syria, questions around their future are more pertinent than ever.

The Durable Solutions Platform (DSP) brought together over 30 participants from humanitarian organisations in Amman, Jordan on September 26th, 2018. The workshop’s objective was to improve understanding of durable solutions for internally displaced persons (IDPs) and to examine how programming and advocacy priorities could support IDPs’ durable solutions.
The Durable Solutions Platform (DSP) organised a seminar titled ‘Addressing Protracted Internal Displacement in Syria’ in Amman on July 5th, 2018, with the objective to increase understanding on how programming and advocacy can support IDPs in Syria. The seminar brought together over 70 people from civil society, UN agencies, donors, think tanks and academia interested in and working on internal displacement in Syria.
